A week ago, I joined a group of friends in a fun and exciting “mini adventure” exploring Masungi Georeserve. I call it a “mini adventure” because you don’t really need to be an experienced hiker to be able to conquer this hike, but if you’re scared of heights you might want to come prepared.

Last week we headed to Mount Paliparan, located in Barangay Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal. Leaving Metro Manila at 5:30 a.m., we arrived at the trailhead just shy of 7:00 a.m. After registering at the Barangay Hall and attending a brief orientation on what to expect along the trail, we set off with our local guides. One of the many reasons we love Salcedo village is its proximity to cozy cafes, bars and restaurants. The Wholesome Table, a restaurant that serves food made only from fresh, natural and organic ingredients is just a few blocks away from our condo. Two years ago when we had just moved to Manila and still settling in, we would frequent here every other day. It was and still is one of our favourite places for a quick healthy bite. My favourite corner is their gluten free, guilt free, mouth watering pastry section.
